  Mt. Kailash Mansaraovar - 16 Days.  
Mount Kailash a holy mountain stands at 6714 meters a very popular mountain peak of Tibet, also known by the name of Tise, Kailash or Kang Rinpoche (Jewel of the Snows). Mt Meru (Kailash) is sacred to the Hindus, Buddhists, Janis, and the Bonpos taken as the centre of the physical and metaphysical universe. For the Hindus, the mountain represents the seat of Shiva. For the Buddhists, a terrestrial projection of the cosmic mandala of Dyani Buddhas and Boddhisatvas (which represents the Wheel of Life)

For the devout pilgrim a visit to Mt. Kailash & Lake Mansarovar forms the ultimate realization of their spiritual pursuit, and for the adventure-lovers it offers rugged beauty, remoteness and solitude. If you tour to Mount Kailash during the month of May it gives you the opportunity to face Buddhist festival of Saga Dawa while most of the other trips are planned to arrive at Mt. Kailash during the full moon period to give all participants a rare experience. A journey you can truly call as `once-in-a-lifetime.

This tour offers rigorous overland driving, trekking and camping, passing the remote and wild western Tibet, in altitudes between 2,745meters to 5600meters.
Itinerary in Details

Day 01- Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345meters).
There you will be met by our Airport Representative and transferred to hotel by private tourist vehicle. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02- Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley.
Your sightseeing trip will start at 9 AM in the morning after breakfast. We provide a private vehicle and professional tour guide. Places we visit are Pasupatinath temple, Buddhanath, Monkey temple, Bhaktpur durbar square and Kathmandu durbar square. The afternoon includes a final briefing and preparations for the trek. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03- Drive Kathmandu to Nepal/China Friendship Bridge and drive to Nyalam (3750meters).
Depart at 5.00 am from our Hotel in Kathmandu and drive through the Nepal reaching the Tibet border along the famous Araniko Highway. We stop for a quick breakfast at Dhulikhel and lunch at Kodari. After immigration and custom formalities on both sides (Kodari and Zhangmu) we drive to the small town of Naylam (3750 meters), Total distance 125 km from Kathmandu to Nyalam. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 04- Acclimatization day at Nyalam.
Overnight at guesthouse.

Day 05- Drive to Saga (4450meters) via Lalung La Pass (5050meters). 
After breakfast we start enjoying the grand view of Mt. Shishapangma(8021meters), Gauri shanker and other high mountains from Lalung la Pass (5050meters). A packed lunch will be served at the sacred Lake Pigutso. Total distance 250 km and the expected timing will be around 8 hours. Overnight guesthouse or tented camp.

Day 07- Drive to Prayang (4610 meters)
After breakfast we drive across the vast Tibetan plateau to Prayang (225 km). A packed lunch will be served on the way. Total distance 250 km and approximate driving time will be 7 hours. Overnight at guesthouse or tented camp.

Day 07- Drive to ManasarovarLake(4560 meters).
The auspicious day for all travellers as we catch our first glimpse of the Holy Manas and Darshan of Mt.Kailash from The Horr Chu pass. Total distance 280 km and approximate driving time is 8 hours. Overnight at guest house or tented camp.

Day 08- Drive to Darchen (4570meters)
The experience of being in the abode of God - a life-time achievement: Puja, Havana-worship, meditation, holy dip, Tarpan, later we drive to Darchen (4570 meters). Preparation day for Kailash Kora (parikrama). Overnight at guest house or tented camp.

Day 09- Mt. Kailash Kora (parikrama) starts.
Trek to Dairaphuk Gompa (5000 meters). Enjoy the close up view of north face of holy Mt. Kailash. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 10- Second day of Kailash Kora.
Trek over Dolma La Pass (5600meters) and trek down to Zudulpuk (4800meters). Overnight at tented camp.

Day 11- Kailash Kora end.
Trek to Darchen, Kailash Kora ends. On the way we visit Zuthulphuk Gompa and drive to Horr Chu to collect holy water of Lake Mansarovar to bring back. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 12- Drive to Paryang.
Overnight at Guesthouse or tented camp.

Day13- Drive to Saga.
Overnight at Guesthouse or tented camp.

Day 14- Drive to Nyalam (3750 meters).
On the way we will see the beautiful Pigutso Lake, enjoy good view of Himalayan range including Shisapangama. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 15- Drive to Kathmandu.
Drive to Friendship Bridge and Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 16- Leisure day in Kathmandu.
It's also spare in Kathmandu, If you are interested in continuing onto Chitwan Jungle Safari, River Rafting Adventure, Kathmandu Shopping Tour or Scenic Everest Flight

Day 17- Transfer for your final flight departure.
The trip ends, our Airport Representative will drop you to the Kathmandu International Airport for your flight departure from Nepal.

Frequently Asked Questions for Mt. Kailash Mansarovar

Q. What type of shape do I need to be in, is this trip for me?
A. Kailash and Mansarovar Lake tour is suitable for average people who are moderately fit, thus no previous experience is required. Some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, hiking is recommended before you embark on your journey. Persons suffering from a pre-existing medical condition or disease must seek medical advice before considering the trek. Whilst on the tour, it is common to experience some discomfort before being fully acclimatized.

Q. What sort of accommodation can I expect during the tour?
A. We use standard rooms from four or five star hotels in Kathmandu with breakfast included. Please note that the guest-houses in Tibet will be of a very basic and dormitory style. During the tours Guesthouse, Lodges and tented camp generally provide basic clean facilities with a mattress, quilt or blanket or sleeping bag. We can also offer you Ace the Himalaya sleeping bags if needed (which need to be return after the trip) it’s always a good idea to have your own sleeping equipment. You should not enter the kitchen unless asked to do so.

Q. What sort of food can I expect in trekking?
A. Most guesthouses and our camping staff cook a delicious range of mostly vegetarian fare. Pasta, tuna bakes, noodles, potatoes, eggs, bread, soups, fresh vegetables (variety depends on the season) and even some desserts like apple pies, pancakes and some interesting attempts at custard. You will find a lot of garlic recommended because it assists with acclimatization – try to eat some every day. In some places you may find some meat. You can always get hot chocolate, tea, and hot lemon drinks, as well as soft drinks, and treats like chocolate and crisps.

Q. What sort of transportation you use?
A. Ace the Himalaya is all about providing you with local insights as well as adventure, with that in mind, where we think you will get more out of your holiday by using different means of transport that is what we do. Using a variety of private transport is an integral part of our Himalaya tours and enhances the experience!
We use private tourist vehicles for sightseeing, city tours and pickups. Depending on the group size we use van, Bus, land cruiser and supporting truck. These small light vehicles are more manoeuvrable and flexible enabling us to take you through the Narrow roads of mountain. All the vehicles are usually air-conditioned unless we are travelling in cooler areas.

Q. What is the best season for this trip?
A. Any time between May and November are the best times to visit most parts of Tibet while monsoon in Nepal (June, July, August, September).

Q. What is the weather & temperature like?
A. Weather in the mountains is notoriously difficult to predict. At night it is generally cooler the days are generally warm. It is also important to make sure that you can stay warm and dry in just about any conditions. Expect the unexpected! The temperature could be as high as 15 deg C to -15 deg C low.

Q. Can I charge my digital camera or other batteries on my trip?
A. These facilities will be available in most of the places while you are in Guesthouse reception by paying some service charges. Remember to bring your adapters!

Q. Is the water OK to drink? Do I need to bring purifying tablets/filter?
A We will supply boiled and purified water during the tour but bring purifying tablets with you just encase.

Q. Are the Ace the Himalaya Agency's staff insured?
